The Easter Formula

I got to wondering how they figure out what date Easter will be on each year so I turned to my old friend Wikipedia. Turns out the formula couldn't be simpler. Easter is the first Sunday after the first fourteenth day of the moon that is on or after the ecclesiastical vernal equinox. Also, the cycle of Easter dates repeats after exactly 5,700,000 years. Seeing as I have a hard time remembering what date today is, I think I'll leave the Easter calculation to someone else.

  • I heard that Easter has not been this early in the year since about 1870, and will not be this early again until about 2240.

  • I don't know why it said anonymous on the above comment because it was Dick.
